The Place to Learn All About Smalltalk
Camp Smalltalk is a regularly held conference with seminars and workshops about Smalltalk, one of the greatest programming languages in history! The 2022 50th anniversary edition celebrates the language’s birthday at Xerox PARC in 1972. We have a terrific line-up of keynote speakers!
One of the original Smalltalk creators at Xerox PARC, Ms. Goldberg has served as President of the Association for Computing Machinery and together with Alan Kay and Dan Ingalls received the ACM Software Systems Award in 1987. In 1994, she was inducted as a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery.
One of the original Smalltalk creators at Xerox PARC, Mr. Ingalls was the principal architect who designed and implemented five generations of the Smalltalk environment. He also invented BitBlt and pop-up menus. In 1984, he received the ACM Grace Murray Hopper Award for his research at Xerox PARC.
Mr. Beck pioneered software design patterns, extreme programming, agile development, test-driven development and many other things. He is particularly known for his seminal book, Smalltalk Best Practice Patterns.
Mr. Buck is the CEO of Simberon, Inc., a prominent Smalltalk consultancy in Ottawa, Ontario. He has over a quarter century of experience with Smalltalk and is well-known for his Smalltalk podcasts. Mr. Buck can speak authoritatively on all the commercial Smalltalk products.
